Supported Living

Supported living for young people aged 16+

North East Supported Tenancies Ltd (NEST) in Wallsend is here to provide support for young adults over 16 leaving care.

Benefits of a NEST flat

A placement in a NEST flat can provide young people with a less dramatic introduction to living independently. Whilst still enjoying some outings and having gas and electricity bills paid, they will be encouraged to live within a food budget of £25/week and will develop some insight into the true costs of heating and lighting etc.

Some of the young people will have staff on-site to give continued care, and some will have carers who visit on occasion or when requested.

Support for mother and babies

At North East Supported Tenancies Ltd, we also provide supervised contact for mothers and babies and we offer floating support.

We are currently planning a fully dedicated mother and baby unit in the future, to help vulnerable young mothers with children and young families.
